Active Soccer for the Blackberry 10 is a beautifully designed soccer game that borrows its style and philosophy from the famous simulator Anco. Great graphics and gameplay from the get-go. Active Soccer supports multiplayer mode but has no official team licenses.
Tournament of nations...but that's not all!
Active Soccer for Blackberry 10 lets you play a friendly match, hold a competition between nations (a tournament with 8 groups of 4 teams) or train (open practice, penalty shots). And you can challenge other players in online multiplayer mode.
You can choose from 3 levels of difficulty and select the duration of the game (3, 5, 7 or 10 minutes).
Before you take the field, you'll have to manage the training and tactical deployment of your team, manually changing the position of the players on the field.
Unfortunately, Active Soccer doesn't have official licenses to use the names of real players.
Active Soccer has a tutorial that explains the game controls and three different sets of commands.
The virtual pad is responsive, allowing good 360-degree movement. Two touch buttons are used to pass or kick the ball or to counter the opponent when you're on defense.
The feel of the gameplay is somewhere in between Kick Off 2 and Sensible Soccer.
The graphics are well done, smooth and nicely detailed. They're reminiscent of the legendary Kick Off 2, though a bit more modern.
The replays are high quality and television-like and can be saved and watched later. Great animations and sound effects let you immerse yourself in the excitement of the game.
The (unofficial) heir to Kick Off 2
Active Soccer for BlackBerry 10 is reminiscent of the fast and immediate style of play of KO2. The games are fun and exciting with a great stadium atmosphere.
The game lacks official team licenses, but the beauty of the game is in the excellent gameplay and well-designed graphics. An exciting soccer game, and a must-have for true fans of the game.
